Volunteering with OAC Ministries

During the summer holidays, OAC Ministries’ teams conduct missions in parks and along the foreshore of popular holiday destinations. The good news of Jesus is communicated in a variety of ways using puppetry, clowning, sketching, games, music and storytelling as well as though personal interaction with the children and their families.

Why do we do it?

Summer missions provide creative age-appropriate activate for children and their families and an opportunity to introduce them to Jesus. Team member express in words and actions the meaningful life they have through their relationship with Jesus.

WHY GO ON A SUMMER MISSION?

• To have opportunities to share Jesus’ love in fun and relevant ways.
• To be part of a team working for God’s Kingdom.
• To build relationships with others who want to share the Good News.
• To develop skills such as leadership, communication and teamwork.
• To grow spiritually through praying and serving together.
• To benefit and encourage the local church through the experience.

WHAT DOES OACM EXPECT FROM YOU?

Training for misson

If you wish to go on mission, you must attend a training session.
Training will apply to your particular level of experience in relation to mission.

If you are over 18, to come on a mission you need to apply for a Working with Children's Check. This is free for volunteers. It needs to be filled out and handed in at a post office. Go to the Jutice department website for all details http://www.justice.vic.gov.au/workingwithchildren/ .If you have already got a WWCC, and need to add OAC to your organisatons, a form is available from the jutice department website.
