OACM Australia welcomes a new director for Queensland. Josh Williamson commenced in July and is already having an impact in his role.
Josh has been involved with Bill Newman in the past, in church planting, and in recent years has been in the UK helping churches with their outreaches. He and his young family were moving back to Brisbane anyway, but he seems to be a God-organised fit for Qld!
May God grant a long, wise, and fruitful ministry with OACM.
Geoff Westlake’s appointment as OACM National Coordinator makes him the first to be based in WA.
The appointment was ratified at the AGM in May 2014, having been made in December 2013 by the National Executive Committee (NEC). Geoff had been Joint NC with Stuart Conkie for a number of years, so Stuart’s departure made Geoff the logical choice.
Geoff continues as WA Director, and presenting outreaches on the coalface as usual. The National Coordinator is therefore only a part time role. Having worked with OACM since 1997, including national responsibilities since 2005, he has a good grasp of the organisation.
“A fair bit of the strategic development work I will be doing is good for both WA and National,” Geoff surmised, “so it might work out pretty efficiently. I also have a good committee asking me the right questions about the work balance too.”
Geoff had already been working on a new National Leadership Team (NLT) to streamline operations, which also took effect in January, and was also ratified at the AGM. This means that on operational matters, Geoff consults regularly with the NLT, made up of the National Administrator Dawn Freeman, and Rob George (currently OAC International President.) Robin Pocklington is also ex-officio as Chair of the NEC. The NEC continues as the executive of the AGM.
